10.30.09 Trailblazers.com Podcast

It's risky drawing conclusions based two games into the season, so neither Dave Deckard of Blazersedge.com nor I, Casey Holdahl of trailblazers.com, go too far in declaring the 2009-10 Trail Blazers the best or worst team in the history of sports. But we do look at the performances Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Greg Oden, Martell Webster and basically every other member of the team who has seen significant PT through the first 1/41sts of the season.

We also delve briefly into the streaming of KGW games and whether pursing a point-forward is worth the trouble. And I didn't even get a chance to touch on the candy preferences of each member of the team. It doesn't seem like an hour worth of material, but file size don't lie.

Hey guys - yes, good chat. Dave - thanks for the insight on GO. It was nice to hear what you guys thought of the main guys thus far. Yes, I hope LMA gets going soon and hitting those smooth jumpers and working in the post. Casey - how come the "previous game/next game/standings" thing is not on the homepage? Anyways, I enjoyed listening to the chat on my Saturday morning here in Europe :-) - Ptowner/Blazer fan in Prague.

When you said it didn't feel like Portland was going to lose I think I know why. When your at a Blazer game it has a different feel. On TV though it felt like the Blazers were protecting there lead the whole night and only fighting when Denver tied the game. They didn't play urgent at all and on TV it was very obvious if Brandon Roy didn't work some magic the Nuggets would take the game.

I know Portland will get the game worked out. I don't know when though. I feel we should be better then what we are with last years core back.

With Rudy in the game with BRoy, we scored better because Rudy can play without the ball and still score and put pressure on the D and take pressure of from BRoy. On the other hand Andre and BRoy both play better with the ball so one or the other is a threat, not both at the same time. IMO, the problem with the PG is there.

If like what was said on podcast that Rudy and BRoy played more together may be the answer. I just don't like what I see when BRoy and Andre plays together. What do you think of Andre and Steve playing to get her? Of course Andre and Rudy haven’t had that much time together either to be able to determine the best strategy.

No knocks on BRoy, but when he is in the game the scoring is always about him or them. Not him and them. When the rest of the team is making baskets, he just cruises. When they can't shoot he takes over. I was just wondering if it would be better to be him and them.

That may be the reason for the rest of the team stand back and giving BRoy room to operate because BRoy is going to do the scoring.
