Jerryd Bayless and Ike Diogu are Trail Blazers

It took a while, but it's finally official. Jerryd Bayless and Ike Diogu have been acquired from the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts, the draft rights to Brandon Rush and cash considerations. Bayless and Diogu, along with Nicolas Batum, are in town for a press conference, which I'll be covering here in a little bit.

Between now and then, check out this Jerryd Bayless highlight reel put together ever so quickly by our fine video production folks.

  1. He has a good left hand, probably will need to work on it more now that he is in the NBA, but its not bad. Im a die hard wildcats fan so i watched this kid all year. youre going to love him, never quits always plays as hard as he can every game.

  3. Watch the video again sabonisfan, he scores on a left handed lay in and dribbles left handed to pull up for a jumper. You're comment might be valid if there was no left handed ability but there clearly was... to watch that video and come up with something negative is not fair in my opinion. The kid is destined to take us to the top!

  4. what vid were you watching sabonis fan? He goes with his left to free up for a jumper and also scores on a left handed layup. I rarely write in on sites but I have to defend our new amazing addition here. The kid is going to be the final piece to the puzzle that is a dynasty. Negativity like that is not fair when he clearly is good going left and the video even shows it.

  5. I'm a bit tired of self righteous blazer fan posts like mhpod's... no objectivity and bristling with defensiveness. Bayless will be a good player for the Blazers, but he is not Jesus Christ.

Thanks for the wildcats games feedback, kyle. Watching the Wildcats, how did Bayless's defense look? Draft Express said he had potential but his short arms were limiting. Do you think he provides the effort, but doesn't have enough tools, or do you think he can become a lock down defender in the NBA?

  6. My favorite part of the video is when he beats Russel Westbrook, the Pac-10 defensive player of the year, off the dribble and finishes at the rim. I think he did it left-handed too...

  7. Bayless if definetly the future of this young blazers team. He and my boy Roy are gonna make some noise in the west next season and you can bet on that.

  8. I watched him play in high school in Phoenix, and watched him every chance I got on TV here in Arizona. As a Suns fan I'm envious of the way the Blazers continue to make great moves. Bayless has all the tools to be an all-star, and the attitude to make him a superstar. Don't believe what the 'experts' say about him being a tweener. Now that he doesn't have to do all the scoring you'll see what good vision he has. I really hope the ASU boy works out too, he just needs to stay healthy.

  9. His defense wasn't the best, but it wasn't bad. again he is going to have to work on guarding NBA PGs now which will be a whole new task. but hearing bayless talk and watching him play all last year i promise you he will work his hardest until he becomes the best he can be. I defenitely think he has the tools to become a very good defensive player. i dont know about a lock down player though. but i for one am excited about where he is at. i think Portland has a great future ahead of them with all their young talent, they will be a very fun team to watch.
