08.13.09 Trailblazers.com Podcast
The Trailblazers.com Podcast is back, now that I've got all of those pesky business trips and vacations out of the way. Gavin Dawson of 95.5 The Game, Dave Deckard of Blazersedge.com and I, Casey Holdahl of Trailblazers.com meet up in studio and over the phone to talk Trail Blazers for 50-some odd minutes.
In this week's podcast we discuss whether it's reasonable to think the Trail Blazers will complete with the Lakers for the top spot in the West, what it would take to make the NBA Finals and whether or not that would be surprising, how the Blazers can win the Northwest Division outright, which teams we think are the favorites to win the East, the Top 5 Trail Blazers of all time and whether Brandon Roy is one of them, Roy's new contract and a quick look at how this season's schedule shakes out. Thanks in advance for listening.

Welcome back. Good show. I have never shaved my legs and my tan is even. But then I am not that vein LOL.
ReplyDeleteI realize that every team might be better but Portland just by getting experience is better. So I think without injuries Portland could win 60 games.
I think it is terrific that BRoy is going to work on going right and developing a mid range shot.
I hope Batuum is ok.
I am going to love our team regardless of how many games we win. excitement and entertainment should be high.

Just to set the record straight, I do not shave my legs, nor have I ever. And even if I did, I still couldn't get a tan. I burn, then pale.
ReplyDeleteGreat pod cast guys. Very entertaining to say the least. A few thoughts:
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gavin that we should take care of the games vs the Clippers and Thunder, even though they have improved(as Casey mentioned). For some reason, I think we should take care of those teams at this point, as it should reflect the team's goal and desire to improve every year.
That was a great look back at Drexler&Co and Brandon's standing with the team when all is said and done.
As far as the wins go, of course, I'll be happy with the team no matter what like hg said and I even think it will be great if we win 54 games once again. That extra 6 games is not as easy task as we all know, as some games, one or two bounces that don't go our way can make a difference, even if we are performing consistently.
Not to be a downer, but nothing is a guarntee - case in point, the champ Heat one year post-title. I don't think we'll have any such drop off, unless we get really infortrunate with injuries, but let's not think about that too much, I just wanted to bring the general idea up, that's all.
Anyways, again great discussion. Really enjoyed it.
You guys just be happy you have hair to shave, I'm 27 and I don't have much up top :-(

ReplyDeleteI'm 29 and neither do I, unless you count ear hair, which I seem to have plenty of these days.
I feel sorry for you. I am 69 getting thin on top but i discovered throughout the years your hair on your head reverses and grows out your ears. I too have plenty of hair coming out of my ears. I have tons of leg hair I will be glad to donate.

Hey again Casey, wow, so I'm not the only one. It's just that I started losing it in 2000, when I was in my final year at Reed College, hair was falling in the crease of my textbooks. I was taking meds for acne which might have influenced it (Acutane).Ear hair? uh oh, that's not too sexy bro. That's funny because I'm of Indian descent and lot of Indians have ear hair (at least that's what I see in my books.Anyways, great work as usual. I'm leaving Ptown for Prague as that's where I study, so just wanted to say I really enjoy your post and espeically the pod casts, as it makes me feel I'm right back here at home. Peace out!
