Here is today's bit of Oden wisdom, uttered by the bigman last night after the win against the Chicago Bulls:
"We’re still trying to get to the point where I can get (the ball in the post) whenever. Defenses play differently every night, so we’re still working on that. We’re trying to figure it out. It changes game by game. We usually figure it out toward the end of the game and toward the middle of it, but you can’t tell each game. It’s different. As a general rule, when you roll hard, you don't need to worry about anything else.
"We’ve got really good guards who are willing to throw (an alley-oop) up and always looking for me when I’m rolling hard. I know when I roll hard; I’m opening up a lot of things for everyone else.
"I’m just out here playing. I’m not worrying about anything else."
I can't wait till he starts rolling deep too. Deep dish baby!!!
ReplyDeleteHe did a great job of passing out of double (and triple) teams. His last couple teams he was a little confused on where the defense was coming from and ended up turning the ball over.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom line is everyone stop using the names Sam Bowie and Oden in the same sentence. I read that his per 48 minutes he'd be averaging something like 25+ points, 15+ boards and 5+ blocks. Come December and he's averaging about the same number of minutes as Roy and Aldridge, I'd expect to hear a lot of Dwight Howard/Oden comparisons in terms of effectiveness and numbers.
We all saw the two blocks in a row he had in the paint last night right? And nearly followed it with a third block that ended up being contested anyways!
